Sylvie Waitumbi

My first experience of yoga was a hot yoga class that a friend took me to back in 2013 at at that time, my main form of exercise was going to the gym, weight lifting and HIIT. The experience I had made me realise just how amazing yoga can be to heal the body and the mind. In 2017, I started practicing Yoga as my main form of exercise and haven’t looked back since. What practicing yoga for me did was spark a massive interest in the Wellness space generally. This led me to start teaching yoga about 2 and a half years ago, and I have never looked back. My style of teaching includes: Vinyasa, Yin and power yoga. Teaching yoga has been the most fulfilling activity I have embarked on by virtue of the fact that I get to see the direct impact of the knowledge and experience I share with my clients. I believe in teaching yoga beyond the poses, allowing people to connect with their true selves in order to live a more fulfilling and authentic life and in turn it helps me to do the same. Adding on to my wellness endeavours, I started a yoga page on Instagram called Yoga with Sylvie and a podcast (Wellness with Sylvie- accessible on most platforms), where I talk about all things wellness with change makers and thought leaders. So take this journey with me where we use our body and breath to quiet and express our mind.

Kennedy Odede

I have a personal and highly individualized approach to teaching yoga, mostly from my own experience as a student/practitioner, and from a background of learning different styles of yoga. The basis of my philosophy is to provide this practice to a diversity of individuals. My classes are intuitive and have been said to bring out the students’ individual strengths, while challenging them towards greater possibilities. I aim for my students to leave class feeling energized and calm. I attempt to make my classes accessible to all levels, with each student getting individual attention.
I have experience teaching individual sessions, small groups and large groups. I have been practicing yoga for the past 5 years. I teach Ashtanga yoga, kundalini yoga and Baptiste power yoga classes. I also have experience with the Alexander and Linklater techniques of body alignment.

Celonia Kabbia

Hey!
My name is Celonia Kabbia, aka Yogagirlkenya. I picked the name to make it easier to find me.
It’s been six years since I started practicing yoga and I must say I have seen such beautiful progress. Living with anxiety, with a tendency to overthink; three years having practiced yoga and connecting with myself, taught me how to control my mind and channel my inner peace.
I’m still a work in progress but aren’t we all?
Professionally, I used to be a dancer, and I still dance; a practice which has managed to advance my flexibility through yoga. I have been teaching for two years now going on to my third year. I truly treasure the bond I have with my clients. I meet a variety of people in my sessions keen on addressing different issues from insomnia to weight loss; anxiety management to depression management you name it! My favorite feedback from a client is hearing that they can not only see, but feel the yoga sessions working. I stand by all their little wins and progress. My goal as an instructor is to help you learn to choose and love yourself through healthy living. I practice this philosophy personally so I know it works! 😊

Felix Njiru

Being a vehement health and movement enthusiast, I have trained in different fields and teach a variety of wellness and movement modalities.
These include:
-Ashtanga/Vinyasa Flow Yoga: A classic yoga system that focuses on movement and breath.  Builds strength, flexibility and endurance. I trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga under the tutelage of internationally certified Ashtanga yoga teacher Sharon Moon. I am also a certified yoga alliance teacher in Baptiste Power Yoga.
-Kundalini Yoga: Amongst the first certified Kundalini yoga teachers in Kenya, my training was led by renowned teachers from the Kundalini Yoga Research Institute.  Entails chanting, breathing exercises and varied repetitive movements that make the body strong and limber. Improves the health and vitality of the internal organs.
-Pilates: I am a certified Pilates instructor with over 9 years of experience. Pilates focuses on the core and working the smaller muscles that often get neglected. Good for muscle toning and flexibility. Recommended for those with mild injuries, back issues and new moms who wish to get back in shape safely.
-Animal Movement: Fun exercise for children of all ages. A progression of animal like movements that start off deceptively simple, but become more and more challenging.
-Mobility and Flow: Opens up stiff muscles and prepares the body for all other movement activities. Prevents injury, keeps joints healthy and good for longevity. A good foundation for beginners starting new movement modalities like yoga.

Wendy.A

My name is Wendy Akhwibisa. On Instagram, I have a community resource and teaching page called “find_your_flow_yoga”. Yoga has been part of my life for 6 years now. To me, yoga is a mental, spiritual and physical workout. Physically, it’s the stretching and toning while building strength and flexibility. Mentally, it helps me connect the body to the mind creating muscle awareness which is a powerful mindfulness practice. Spiritually, the practice involves meditation that leaves me feeling at peace, calm and relaxed.
Yoga has been a way to take my wellbeing into my own hands (A fun way for me to practice personal power). It has also been very healing for all the body pains that I have had. And by doing yoga every day, I have been in good health throughout the length of my practice.
I believe, yoga is best explored through self-practice. I have tailored my lessons to cater for your needs and capabilities while guiding you through the fundamentals of yoga and the poses. By the end of the short course, you and I will create your own customized yoga sequence/flow that you can practice every day, any where you are.
